Old World Maps

Antique world maps from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.  The world is depicted as it was known to the cartographers of those times. They are arranged in chronological order so you can see how mapping evolved as geographers gathered more accurate information. From Ptolemy's old map as recreated by Martin Waldseemuller to the quite accurate renditions of Wells, Nolin and de L'Isle. These old maps show almost 200 years of mapping evolution. The artwork on these old world maps is phenomenal and the detail and colors make them suitable for any living or office space.  The maps are giclee prints on very high quality cotton rag archival paper, with a selection of museum quality frames and mats.  The prints are derived from images in the archives of the Library of Congress.
